Dental Veneers in Strathfield
For a Confident, Natural-Looking Smile
If you hide your teeth in photos or feel self‑conscious about chips, stains or uneven edges, veneers can give you a smile you actually enjoy showing. At Smile ConfiDENTAL, Dr. Mathew Elias focuses on cosmetic dentistry and sees veneers cases every week, from a single front tooth to full smile makeovers.
Veneers are thin custom shells that sit over the front of your teeth to change their colour, shape and alignment. We also offer free veneer consultations, so you can find out what’s possible and what it might cost before you decide.
Veneers can be a great option if you would like to improve:
- Dark/stained teeth that don’t respond to whitening
- Chipped, worn or uneven front teeth
- Small gaps between teeth
- Slightly crooked or misshapen teeth
- Teeth that look too short when you smile
Porcelain vs Composite Veneers: What’s the Difference?
Dr. Elias offers both porcelain and composite veneers, and will talk you through which suits your teeth, goals and budget. Porcelain veneers are stronger and more durable, with a very high‑quality, lifelike finish; they usually require a small amount of tooth reduction and last longer if well cared for. Composite veneers are built up directly on the tooth, often with little or no tooth reduction, and are usually replaced about every 5-7 years on average. If a porcelain veneer breaks it generally needs to be remade, while composite can often be repaired or refreshed.
How Our Digital Smile Design Process Works
For one or two veneers, we often take a digital scan, plan the case and complete your veneer at the same visit if everything is straightforward. For more teeth, especially six or more, we use digital smile design, which means we plan your new smile on screen using scans and photos so you can preview the result. We then place temporary veneers so you can see and feel how your new smile will look in real life, and make any tweaks you’d like before the final veneers are made. This extra planning time helps you feel confident you’ll love your smile before anything is permanent.
Looking After Your Veneers
Once your veneers are fitted, you’ll brush and floss them much like natural teeth and see us for regular check‑ups and cleans. If you have several veneers, especially porcelain, Dr. Elias will usually recommend a night splint or retainer to protect them from grinding and reduce the risk of breakage. In some cases, if teeth are very crowded, we may suggest Invisalign or braces first so your veneers can be thinner and more conservative. For more complex smile changes, such as opening your bite or adjusting how much tooth shows when you smile, Dr. Elias uses careful smile design and modern tools to plan a long‑lasting result.
